We're Having Babies! Mother of Thousands Succulent Inspires.

We're having babies! 

Look at these little succulents that are growing on their beautiful mama. It is called Mother of Thousands but is often called Alligator Plant or Mexican Hat Plant. The tiny "babies" grow directly on the margins of its broad, fleshy leaves as little clone plants, so I guess I could say I'm "cloning" things now LOL. They fall off into the surrounding soil to root themselves and spread quickly. I've already transplanted a few to other small planters, too. I keep them on the porch where they get sun in the morning but shade in the hot afternoon sun. A little drizzle of water almost every day seems to work well for them but when it cools off, I'll change to less frequency of watering and a more thorough watering.

A few years ago, a couple after the brain tumor was removed, I decided to fulfill one of my dreams of being a Master Gardner. With memory being a serious issue I "plowed" ahead and completed that dream. Being outdoors is one of my favorite places, not a specific location, but just out in nature that the Good Lord made. Every plant, cloud, sunrise, sunset, etc are a true gift that brings me some of the greatest joy.
