So often I react. Instead of responding, I react to
the situation. That happened today. One child hurt the other.
I scolded the aggressor, which wasn't wrong, but I did it in the wrong tone of
voice. I noticed the one that got hurt saw my frustration and began to
get frustrated. I knew I needed to use a nicer tone, firm, but not frustrated. I needed to set the example of forgiveness and gentleness when wronged. I know it is ok to have emotion. I don't like seeing any of my children hurt. But, my reaction needs to be different.
I wonder how often we react to things instead of respond. Something to think about....
